7 Feasts Of Israel

The 7 Biblical Feasts of Jehovah

No man should appear before the LORD empty handed.
Deut. 16:16

All the feasts occur at the time of a full moon.  This allows pilgrims enough light to travel at night when it was cool.  The first 4 feasts happen in the spring.

1. Passover, the beginning of the sacred year.  On the 14th day of Nissan a lamb is killed in the evening.  The blood of the Lamb protects from the destroyer!  Ex. 12:23

2. Unleavened Bread begins on the 15th of Nissan and is eaten exclusively for 7 days. Yeast is a symbol for sin.  I Cor. 5:1-12

3. Feast of First Fruits occurs the first day after the Sabbath or the day Jesus rose from the dead! Lev. 23:10-11, I Cor. 15:20-26

4. Shavuot or Pentecost commemorates the giving of the Law to Moses.  Ex. 19

In Acts 2 the disciples receive the Holy Spirit and God writes His laws on the fleshly tables of their hearts.  In Exodus 3,000 people die on that day but on Pentecost of the New Testament 3,000 are saved. Acts 2:40-41

A long time passes before the fall feasts 30 AD until 2012?

5. The Feast of Trumpets begins the secular New Year known as Rosh Hashanah! Num. 29:1.  The Shofar trumpet will sound in Synagogues over the whole world for 7 days.  I Thess. 4:16-17, I Cor. 15:51-52

6. Yom Kippur or the Day of Atonement is held on the 10th day of Nissan.

Lev. 23:27.  The high Priest of Israel goes beyond the veil to place the Lamb’s blood on the Mercy Seat above the Ark of the Covenant to make atonement for himself and the people of Israel. The piece of red wool tied to the horn of the goat turned white!

7. The last Feast is Succoth or Tabernacles and is called the Feast of Joy!

Deut. 16:13.  It commemorates the 40 years they wandered in the desert and lived in tents. On the 8th day of Tabernacles the great water libation ceremony was held.  Jesus honored this ceremony in Jn. 7:37-38.

The 7th feast in the 7th month lasts for 7 days then on the 8th day a new beginning occurs!
