Untied Shoes

About a month ago, an amazing woman shared a quote with me that grasped my heart in such a way, that I refer to it DAILY. Have you even been “moved” by something to the point you know it will never leave you? God has a way of getting our attention and when He’s got a hold of it, there’s no overlooking it. I’ve been inspired in the simplicity of…

“God will give you a pair of shoes, but He won’t tie them for you.”

–A.D. Van Hoose (Bro. Van)

If I had to explain that quote in one word, it would be: FAITH. To have faith, yet not start the work of what He has put within you is like having a car with no gas-you aren’t going anywhere. I am quickly reminded of James 2:26 “So then, as the body without the spirit is dead, also faith without actions is dead.” A few synonyms for “active” is: committed, hard-working, devoted, involved, tireless and mobile. A time when we are given a pair of shoes and we lace them up and prepare for what is ahead. A runner never sets out to run a race with untied shoes. I’m tying my shoes and stepping out in faith for what He has prepared me for this year! Don’t let untied shoes become a hindrance in the race that you’re running…

Isaiah 60:1 (New Living Translation)
1 “Arise, Jerusalem! Let your light shine for all the nations to see! For the glory of the LORD is shining upon you.”
Jesus declared that He was the light of the world and that when we look to Him, He would light our path. In return, when we face Him, we act like a mirror, reflecting His light to the world. The great thing about a mirror is that you can shine the light in places that the light does not reach.
